About Cecilia Concerts

For nearly forty years, Cecilia Concerts has enriched cultural life in Halifax and across Nova Scotia by presenting chamber music of the highest calibre in welcoming and accessible settings. Our stages have featured acclaimed soloists, ensembles, and genre-crossing performers from Nova Scotia, across Canada, and around the world, including GRAMMY, JUNO, Prix Opus, and international competition winners.

Our Main Stage Concerts series sits at the heart of each season, with thoughtfully programmed performances rooted in artistic excellence, inclusion, and cultural connection. Through our Musician-in-Residence program, we also support artistic growth, creative exploration, and stronger relationships between artists and audiences. We expand access to live music through our free Sensory-Accessible Concerts, Daylight Concerts for older adults, and other community performances designed to welcome people who face financial, physical, sensory, social, or transportation barriers. We also support developing and emerging musicians through the Developing Musician Award, music student bursaries, masterclasses, mentorship opportunities, artist development initiatives, and partnerships with schools and community organizations. Together, these programs help build the next generation of performers and audiences while making exceptional live music available to more people across our community.
