About this Concert

PROGRAM: Bizet, Cook, Debussy, Elgar, Gounod, Horvit, Lee

The third and final performance in the first season of our series of Sensory-Friendly Chamber Music Concerts features Symphony Nova Scotia French horn player Mary Lee, Symphony Nova Scotia violinist Jennifer Jones, and pianist Jennifer King performing fun and contrasting works by composers Edward Elgar, Charles Gounod, Michael Horvit, Arnold Cook, Georges Bizet, and Claude Debussy, as well as the world premiere of a brand work composed for this concert by Vancouver-based cellist, improviser, and composer Peggy Lee. This series, which is led by the award-winning pianist King and Certified Music Therapist Anna Plaskett, is specifically designed to be welcoming and accessible for autistic, neurodivergent, and intellectually disabled community members and their families. These concerts are open to the public free-of-charge on select Sunday afternoons at the Halifax Central Library's Paul O'Regan Hall. Seating is limited and registration is required.
